Proven track record of designing and executing enterprise-wide strategy, building high-performing teams, and strengthening organisational culture and community impact. Over the past 5 years, ESG focus for
international reporting has been a strategic priority, supported by close partnership with GCX and independent Sustainability Project leads, alongside intensive internal ESG training to support business alignment. Complements a strong commercial and operational management foundation with specialist credentials in wellness and holistic practice, bringing a distinctive, people-centred approach to leadership.
Jaryd is an entrepreneur and scientist dedicated to solving the pressing challenges of organic waste. With an MSc from Rhodes University and over a decade of experience designing and scaling organic waste solutions, he brings both technical depth and commercial insight to the sector. As a founder of the Cape Town Biogas plant—which processes 200 tons of organic waste daily—he has a firsthand understanding of the operational, regulatory, and market realities facing the industry. Jaryd is passionate about catalysing the full spectrum of organic waste solutions across the ecosystem, recognising that no single technology can address the challenge alone. Achieving this requires shaping the regulatory frameworks and fostering the industry collaboration needed to unlock investment, accelerate deployment, and build resilient resource cycles for South Africa.
