Dr Gamuchirai Mutezo is the founder of Madam Waste, a 100% African femaleowned urban energy planning firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa and Kigali, Rwanda. Dr Mutezo has over 15 years’ work experience underpinned by entrepreneurship, renewable energy, applied research and development, all with a keen focus on decentralising energy access in African cities using anaerobic digestion. She holds a B. Town and Regional Planning (University of Pretoria), an MPhil Energy Poverty and Development (University of Cape Town), Project Management Certificate (University of South Africa) and a DPhil in Urban Biogas and Circular Economy (University of the Witwatersrand).

As a Senior Manager and seasoned Safety, Health, Environmental, and Risk professional, Rialine specializes in Environmental Legislation and compliance, consistently driving innovation and excellence in the waste management industry. Rialine is deeply passionate about waste diversion and organic composting, actively educating and empowering others to embrace sustainable practices. Her work fosters a culture of environmental responsibility and drives meaningful change within communities. As a member of the ORASA Gauteng Committee, Rialine contributes her expertise to advancing organic recycling standards and shaping the future of waste management in the region. Her leadership and commitment make her an invaluable asset to both ORASA and the industry at large.
